Er, so, I've got just over two months left on my no-TV/movies/video thing I've been doing this year, and starting to make a list of what I need to catch up on starting in January. Doctor Who is number one. We're going to have a marathon. I've spawned a houseful of geeks. Anyway.
No one I've asked seems to be all that enthusiastic about movies or shows that came out this year. So what did you New Papeners (oh, we need to call ourselves something other than that, good god) like in 2011? What should I put on my watch-list?

I'm quite enjoying Terra Nova, Spielberg's new dino drama show. It's got a little bit of everything-- dinosaur action, suspense, family drama, crime drama, time travel. One reviewer said, "This isn't just any show-- it's every show!" or something like that. Which is kinda true, but it's still fun.
And this isn't a new show, but Top Gear is awesome. It's this British show about cars. You don't need to know anything about cars, or even to like them, because the presenters are just so hilarious. They review new cars, and they do all kinds of silly car-related challenges. For instance, one time they had to build amphibious vehicles and sail/drive them across the English Channel to France.
Oh, and if you've never seen Avatar: The Last Airbender... DO IT. You will not regret it, I promise. And the same goes for Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann. Those are my two favorite shows everrrr.

I saw an episode of Top Gear with Simon Pegg once. It made me laugh.
I did hear about the Terra Nova thing. It reminded me vaguely of Primeval. They both involve dinosaurs, anyway.... I'll have to check it out, though. Thanks!

I'm planning on watching it next year. I heard a lot about it. Did you like it?

It was a fairly good adaption of the first book, yes. I mean, I do have a handful of pet peeves, and I could rant endlessly about them, but altogether I can really recommend it.

Crazy Stupid Love was a good one.... Also, I hear that that new Muppets movie is good.

Looking forward to the new season of True Blood, too. *muttering about cliffhangers*
