Let's see... Fruits Basket, Ouran High School Host Club, Skip-Beat, Star Trek, Psych, Harry Potter....
Embarrassingly enough, a friend of mine and I created characters for ourselves and inserted us firmly into the story line of Star Trek. My character wound up married to Pavel Chekov with two children. I have a thing for short guys. *eyes FAB*

You might not have a Russian accent, but I'm not entirely unconvinced that you haven't got any accent at all...
Also to add to the list of new fandoms, How I Met Your Mother and 30 Rock.

I lack the accent though. Can you fake it? That's almost as good.

*thinks* I...haven't really gotten into any fandoms since the PPN days. I have moments when I'll like something for a bit, then move on to the next thing. Nothing's been like Phantom, though, and I miss that. I love the new ABC show "Once Upon a Time" and could see a fandom developing out of that, but I'm too old to go looking for that sort of stuff now.

Since 2005? Let me think... Star Trek, Buffy the Vampire Slayer/Angel, A Song of Ice and Fire, Dune, Underworld, Doctor Who/Torchwood. Also, I've devoted a lot of time to rock music. Ah, Buffy the Vampire Slayer/Angel is an old one for me... pre-Phantom. Glad to see someone else still enjoys the Whedonverse! It seems to have become ancient history with the new Twilight-induced vampire obsession. Haven't seem much of Torchwood... just a couple episodes. I read the first book in the Dune series this year and really enjoyed it... I'll have to check out the rest sometime. I love the new ABC show "Once Upon a Time" and could see a fandom developing out of that, but I'm too old to go looking for that sort of stuff now. That show looks interesting... I really need to see some episodes! And I may be getting to old for it, too, but I still go looking for fandomish stuff pretty much every time I get into a new show... *hides* (I miss the little ninja smiley face! That would have been perfect here...)

I'm definitely giving "Once Upon A Time" a try once Unboxed is over. I'm a sucker for fairy-tale-stories. And Robert Carlyle.

I lack the accent though. Can you fake it? That's almost as good. Yes, I believe I can. ;D Eppie: Talking of the Whedonverse, I also rather like Firefly. And yes, vampires have sadly become a girl thing. My sister, who has been a vampire fan for a decade now, finds it really appalling. As she once said, though referring to Anne Rice and her "fuzzy" characters, "I liked Lestat in the first book. After that, he is just whiny and lame - no real vampire at all. A real vampire has the balls to be an a**hole." Now you can imagine what she thinks of "vegetarians" who glitter (*puke*) in the sunlight... And I'll just quote Spike on that topic: "Poofter!" I must say I recently quite enjoy watching True Blood (though in some points I don't like the vampire lore used so much). (And extra credit for Stephen Moyer for calling that nauseating glittering thing a pussy! ;D )

Eppie: Talking of the Whedonverse, I also rather like Firefly. Oh, I absolutely love Firefly! Actually, that's my favorite of Whedon's shows. I generally put them in this order: Firefly > Buffy > Angel > Dollhouse. I do have Dollhouse on DVD because I'm just that much of a Whedon fan, but it didn't quite do it for me, somehow. (Except for that unaired episode "Epitaph One", which I loved.) I think Whedon's strength is in the long story arcs, and that show--especially the first season--was too episodic to really play to his skills as a storyteller, in my opinion. Heh, I agree so much with this. I actually was never all that into Anne Rice... I think I read about five of them in somewhat random order and then lost interest. For me they got irritating not just because Lestat got whiny and lame (although he did), but because all these characters, who are supposedly immortal and have superhuman mental powers in addition to superhuman physical ones, seemed to think like angsty teenagers. It drove me nuts. I must say I recently quite enjoy watching True Blood (though in some points I don't like the vampire lore used so much). Hm, I'll have to get back to that one. I *think* I watched through the second season, but I haven't seen any since.
